Core Tunnel 1.0 Release Plan

Primary Focus: Supersedes SSH Tunnel

SSH Tunnel lacks lots of advanced features including, but not limited to, agent forwarding, certificates, proxy jump, post command, various algorithms…

Besides as a complete replacement for SSH Tunnel, the first release of Core Tunnel tries to solve all above issues, and as near to 100% compatible with OpenSSH as possible.

To achieve this objective, following required tasks need to be done:

  1. :white_check_mark: Turn OpenSSH into a XPC service
  2. :white_check_mark: UI redesign
  3. :white_check_mark: OpenSSH options editor
  4. :white_check_mark: Tunnel and XPC instances management
  5. :white_check_mark: Solve path conflicts between sandboxed app and XPC service
  6. :white_check_mark: Use tagging to group tunnels
  7. :white_check_mark: Status icon in system menu bar
  8. :white_check_mark: Import / export JSON formatted host configurations

Other Improvements

  1. :white_check_mark: Import tunnels from SSH Tunnel
  2. :white_check_mark: Reveal authentication and kex information
  3. :white_check_mark: Option to disable use of .ssh/config
