I have an active Premium subscription, which is correctly shown in the app settings. However, Core Tunnel intermittently behaves as if I were on the Basic plan.
When Core Tunnel launches via autostart, or when my Mac wakes from sleep, the following message appears:
“You’ve reached the Basic connection limit. Upgrade to Premium to use multiple connections and access additional features.”
All previously active connections are then terminated. To restore them, I have to open the main window and reactivate each connection manually.
Steps to reproduce:
- Have an active Premium subscription (verified in Settings).
- Enable “Launch at login” (autostart) in Core Tunnel.
- Activate multiple connections.
- Restart the Mac, or put it to sleep and wake it.
Expected behavior:
Core Tunnel recognizes the Premium subscription and automatically re-establishes all previously active connections.
Actual behavior:
The Basic connection limit message is shown and all active connections are terminated. The Premium status is still displayed in Settings.
Workaround:
Open the main window and reactivate the connections manually.
Assumption:
The subscription/license status may be checked before it has been loaded or validated (e.g., the network is not yet available after wake, or the StoreKit receipt is not yet refreshed). The app then falls back to Basic limits.
Environment:
- Core Tunnel version: 5.2.1
- macOS version: 26.6.2
- Hardware: MacBook Pro M1
