Core Shell 5.2 (2026-10-31)
For Codinn Store and Setapp versions, version 5.2 makes it easier to see what a local terminal is running, and safer to close a window or quit while work is still in progress.
The Inspector of a local terminal now shows the programs running in that session, in the same way as the built-in Terminal. You can choose which columns to show, copy a process entry, and pause, resume, or stop a running program from the Inspector.
Core Shell can now ask before closing a window that still has programs running or profile changes that have not been saved. A new "Ask before closing" setting in the profile editor lets you choose whether to ask every time, never ask, or ask only when programs are running; you can also list programs that should not trigger the question.
This release also includes the following improvements and fixes:
- Links that open a local terminal can include a command and choose whether to open it in a new tab (@Vincent_Keunen)
- A serial terminal now shows a disconnected device immediately instead of continuing to look connected
- Fixed an issue where a transfer could keep showing as in progress after a download failed
- Core Shell now starts normally when iCloud is unavailable, instead of failing to launch (@tzc)
- Core Shell no longer stays in the background after you quit, so it now quits faster and more cleanly (@chr.schmitz)
- Fixed other minor issues

Core Tunnel 5.2 (2026-10-31)
Version 5.2 makes closing and quitting more predictable. Closing a profile editor window now asks before discarding unsaved changes.
This release also includes the following improvements and fixes:
- Core Tunnel now starts normally when iCloud is unavailable, instead of failing to launch (@tzc)
- Core Tunnel no longer stays in the background after you quit, so it now quits faster and more cleanly (@chr.schmitz)
- Fixed other minor issues
